Alex Buchan

Alexander Buchan is well known for his detailed bronze sculptures specializing in the area of automotive art. He designs, sculpts, casts and welds each individual piece of sculpture, which is then finished with a hand painted patina. He says, “I work with the tools God has given me to take the dust of the earth, form it, and attempt in my own mortal way to bring life into it.” Buchan is a nationally acclaimed artist who has exhibited his sculptures at automotive events across the country. He has a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from Wayne State University, and he worked as a Chief Design Sculptor for General Motors for over 38 years. His awards include the “Award of Excellence,” the “Richard Teague Award,” the “Dave R. Hollis Award" and the “Spirit of the Automobilist” - all from the Meadow Brook Concours d’Elegance.
